I've went through and tried matching the output of kextstat when booted both ways and resolved the differences. The trackpad and pointing device work just fine when booted from the Unibeast USB key. Guess I need a ExpressCard54 wireless card which will load. Wireless (Intel Centrino) does not work, with no promise of ever working. You will get the dreaded "GPT test test error" error when trying to boot with a normal Chimera or Chameleon install (even after making sure the boot file dd works). Chameleon 2.0 RC5 works when installing to the EFI partition, as this laptop has an advanced format (4k/sector) HDD. MultiBeast/Chimera (incl 1.7) does not work.
